There is a Small Business Boom in Colorado Springs right now. It ranges from craft beer, coffee shops, cafes, boutiques, or any number of other creative, entrepreneurial ventures. With so many excellent options, I rarely leave town for shopping or dining. In regards to shopping, there are dozens of Colorado Springs boutiques all over the city, with new ones opening up all the time.
This post only highlights ten of those. As a result, I encourage you to get out and explore all the beautiful small boutiques the Springs and the surrounding areas have to offer.
TOP TEN COLORADO SPRINGS BOUTIQUES
After much thought and input from others, here are my TOP TEN Colorado Springs boutiques (including 1 pet boutique!) that I enjoy and hope you will also – in no particular order:
1. Daisy In A Bottle
A hidden gem unknown to most folks. You will find Daisy In A Bottle tucked away in the old stone building that houses the Agia Sophia coffee house. Located at 29th and Colorado Ave in Old Colorado City, Kristin carries brands such as White Crow, Bed Stü, Others Follow and more. I always receive the best one on one service. I also love it because I can hang out with a friend at my favorite coffee shop and then stop in to browse.
Coffee, friends, shopping….all in one spot? Can I get an Amen?!
Old Colorado City 2902 W. Colorado Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 719-210-0036 Hours: Thurs - Sat 10am - 5 pm (or by appt) Website: www.daisyinabottle.com Facebook Avg Price: $75
2. Elly Blue
I have always admired the simple, classic style of Elly Blue. (Named after Pat’s dog, Elly, a Blue Heeler/Australian Shepherd mix. ) The style of the store is natural, comfortable, classy. Pat always has an excellent selection of linen and the perfect tees and tops. The clothes are a nice casual. Also, you’ll always find an impressive selection of drool-worthy leather bags.
Some of her regular brands include Velvet, Johnny Was, 3 Dot, Odd Molly, Lucky Brand, to name a few.
Old Colorado City 2605 W. Colorado Ave, Colorado Springs 80904 719-520-0556 Hours: Mon-Wed 10am - 6 pm Thurs - Sat 10 am - 7 pm (summer only) Sun 11 am - 5 pm Website: www.ellybluecos.com Facebook Avg Apparel Price: $100
3. Barracuda Bazaar
The most popular boutique among the younger generations! Think colorful, fun, whimsical. It is impossible to walk in Kim’s shop and not smile. Novelty gifts, adorable sweaters, trendy dresses. While it caters to the younger crowd, don’t let it keep you from checking it out no matter your age. I always walk away with a great find!
Old Colorado City 2603 W Colorado Ave, Colorado Springs 80904 719-442-2202 Hours: Mon - Thurs 10am - 6 pm Fri and Sat 10am - 7 pm (summers) Sunday 12 pm - 5 pm Website: www.barracudabazaar.com Facebook Avg. Clothing Price: $45
4. Frayla Boutique
I stumbled upon this fantastic boutique while driving around a downtown neighborhood. Tina has converted a charming, older home into a delightful boutique and hair salon in the back. I love her selection of natural (not chemically processed) bags. I found fun graphic tees, perfect layering basics, and cute maxi dresses. Her motto is “giving back with style, “ and much of her product comes from companies with the same philosophy. Check out her Giving Keys, Tees For A Cause, and Sky Footwear (buy one, give one).
SouthEast Downtown Colorado Springs 18 E Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, 80903 (just off Nevada) 719-237-9433 Hours: Tues - Sat 10am - 5pm Website: www.fraylaboutique.com Facebook
5. MacKenzie and West
One of the newest boutiques in town and these women entrepreneurs hit it out of the park with their design and selection! The store has a “mountain industrial” feel to it. The light wood and dark metal accents are attractive. Also, with some boutiques starting to look and feel the same, Laura and Glenna have done an outstanding job of bringing in gifts and apparel selections that stand apart from the rest. Mackenzie and West has become my go-to place for cute gifts. (Check out their Buckets of Happy or Mugs of Love!)
Old Colorado City 2530 W. Colorado Ave, Ste A Colorado Springs 80904 719-471-4463 Hours: Mon-Sat 10am-6pm Sunday 12-5 pm Website: www.mackenzieandwest.com Facebook
6. Republic of Paws
Boutiques aren’t just for women and here’s one for our furry family! This is the only non-women’s clothing store on my list. However, there is nothing like this shop in the city. Republic of Paws is owned by Molly, and she has a passion for the best care of our family pets. Top quality food and snacks, adorable accessories, nail trimming services, and now a salon/day spa for your pet! Likewise, I appreciate the very knowledgeable staff willing to answer my questions (and it doesn’t smell funny like those big box stores!).
Check out the top-notch food selection as well as the raw bones with marrow found in their freezer. There are all kinds of goodies for your pets. In my opinion: Better Service. Better Care. Better Products.
Old Colorado City 2411 W. Colorado Ave, Colorado Springs, 80904 719-445-6634 Hours: Mon - Fri 10am - 7pm Saturday 10am - 5 pm Sunday 12-5 pm Website: www.republicofpaws.com Facebook
7. Halo Boutique
A feminine and pretty store that I just love to visit. Bright, cheery decor AND staff! Always an adorable selection of shoes, tops, dresses, and accessories. The best part is that the prices are awesome! She also hosts fun parties every few weeks with donuts, cupcakes, sparkling drinks and great sales.
This is definitely my impulse-buy shop!
230 N. Tejon St., Colorado Springs, 80903 719-203-6064 Hours: Mon-Sat 10am - 6pm Sunday 12-5 pm Website: www.haloclothingboutique.com Facebook Avg. Price Point: $49
8. Kirk and Hill
Kirk and Hill is the oldest locally-owned women’s boutique in the city. Jackie has run this successful enterprise that caters to higher end customers for over 30 years. Once a downtown landmark, she recently moved her operations up north to the Chapel Hills Mall.
The move changed her demographic only slightly. Her excellence in style and service continues to draw a more refined customer. On the other hand, her location naturally attracts a younger crowd as well. They are best known for carrying brands such as Joseph Ribkoff, Tribal, Uno de 50 and more.
The stylists at Kirk and Hill also offer style and wardrobe consultations.
Chapel Hills Mall 1710 Briargate Blve, Colorado Springs, 80920 719-635-7068 Hours: Mon-Sat 10am - 6pm Sunday 12 - 4pm Website: KirkandHill.com Facebook Avg. Price Point: > $100
9. Eve’s Revolution
One of the most famous boutiques in town. Eclectic, fun, whimsy. Check out her garden parties on the weekends in the summer. Enjoy the flavor of trendy fashion in a renovated vintage home. A somewhat European flair to the decor and styling. The perfect place if you are looking for something unique.
Ladies flock to see the latest find at Eve’s! But keep an eye out…it’s easy to drive right by it as it stands alone in the midst of residences.
Westside 1312 W. Colorado Ave., Colorado Springs, 80904 719-633-1357 Hours: Mon-Sat 10am - 5pm Sunday 12-4pm Website: www.evesrevolution.com Facebook
10. Colorado Co-op
Another classy boutique that tends to fly under the radar for most. Located in downtown, most of the advertising is by word of mouth. Selections are always changing. You won’t find an extensive inventory, but each style is carefully chosen, reflecting a contemporary lifestyle. They carry brands such as Chan Luu, Lilith, Sanctuary, and other upscale designers.
Downtown 315 N Tejon St., Colorado Springs, 80903 719-389-0696 Hours: Monday 10am-5pm Tues - Sat 10am - 6pm Sunday 12 - 5pm Website: www.coloradocoop.co Facebook Avg price point: >$100
This is by no means a complete list of the great boutiques in our city! There are much more to explore. Other popular ones include Terra Verde, Febra’s, Beth’s, Pink Cadillac, Peak Chique Boutique, What’s In Store, Tailored West, Bang Bang, Jeanne B’s, Erbn, and several more. Get out and see what you find. I’d love to hear about your favorite!
